Description

In 1857, a granary by the name “Den Hoge Wiek” was built in East of the Netherlands. In 1872, a miller by the name of Willem van Tooren bought, maintained and milled this granary for roughly 200 farmers in the area. With an enormous amount of hard work and the help of strong winds, he refined this grain into a fine flour.

Willem and his wife started utilizing the mill-made flower for baking until discovering they had a savory pancake recipe. Shortly after, the entire village was seated at their table and history was made.

The distinctive recipe Willem had used for his pancakes nearly a century and a half ago lives on today. In memory of his culinary heritage we still use his recipe and have been able to bring the amazing taste of craft pancakes directly to Aruba.
