An exceptional night of wining & dining with a taste of Oporto, Portugal!
When food is appropriately paired it can truly make any dish sing. It is all about finding that perfect match that not only complements but also brings everything in perfect balance. On November 5th guests of Que Pasa Restaurant & Winebar will have the opportunity to experience an exclusive night of wining and dining during the Food & Wine Pairing Dinner event.
This extraordinary dinner will present its patrons with a 5-course menu, each uniquely prepared and paired. The first pairing will be a tasty pumpkin mouse with coconut cream, pica de papaya, and puffed quinoa. This is paired with a Freixenet Carta Nevada Semi Seco from Spain. The night will continue with two appetizers and their pairings from California, USA. The Francis Ford Coppola Pinot Grigio presents notes of cranberry & blueberry compote, roasted nuts, and dark chocolate. As for the Liberty School Chardonnay, the initial flavors are apples, limes, and butterscotch followed by a long, creamy finish with a hint of pineapple. An excellent way to learn about the wines and stimulate the palate. As for the main course, a beef short rib with plantain puree, coleslaw, smoked bell, and topped with pepper beef jus is paired with Prisoner Cabernet Sauvignon which has the tasting notes of blackberry, cocoa, and baking spice.
The night will end in Oporto, Portugal with Graham’s Six Grapes Reserve Ruby. Oporto is a world-famous city for not only its port wines but also its architecture and lively atmosphere. This incredible city has been the trading center for different kinds of port wines since 1678! Wine lovers of Aruba will be able to enjoy Graham’s Six Grapes Reserve Ruby’s seductive, rich aroma of ripe plums, cherries, and dark chocolate notes. On the palate, it’s complex, with an excellent structure and a long, lingering finish. It’s as rich in flavor as its city!
