In the month of September, visitors and locals alike are looking forward to the Aruba Wine and Dine Restaurant Week. It is a week-long festival of crazy prices and wonderful menus at nine of the most popular restaurants on the island. For just AWG. 45 ($ 25.75) you are presented with mouthwatering three-course menus. The chefs of the various restaurants have come up with tasty combinations, proudly showcasing their restaurants. In short: check out the 9th AWD Restaurant Week on Aruba, which is held from September 11 – 18, and enjoy dinner at Hadicurari, MooMba Beach, Nos Clubhuis, Salt & Pepper Restaurant, Tango, Fishes & More, Dragonfly, Café the Plaza and Que Pasa.
Dragonfly in the Arawak Garden offers a Restaurant Week menu that makes the chef proud. It starts off with appetizer options gyozas, bamboo-steamed gyozas filled with beef, or Japanese yakitori, a skewer of beef, chicken breast, onions and mixed peppers coated in a sweet, sake-based rice wine sauce. Main course choices are the Chef’s sushi roll filled with shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumber and cream cheese, topped with salted calamari and served with a white wine eel sauce or Dragonfly’s pork tenderloin, served on Cantonese fried rice. Dessert is home-made banana cake with a scoop of the restaurant’s famous green tea ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate sauce.
Part of the Restaurant Week’s profits will go to Maris Stella, the home for Aruba’s elderly. It is just one more reason to go out to dinner at the AWD restaurants during this super special, delicious week. And a tip: please make your reservations in advance, as these will give you the best seats in the house.
The ninth edition of Restaurant Week promises to be an unforgettable culinary experience – don’t forget to be part of it!
